Dr. Deshpande has been caring for patients with gastrointestinal, biliary and liver related issues in Atlantic and Cape May County, New Jersey for several years. Dr. Deshpande earned his medical degree from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore, India. He completed his three year internal medicine residency at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Subsequently, he completed his three year fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Temple University Hospital, in Philadelphia, PA.
Before returning to South Jersey, Dr. Deshpande was employed as staff Gastroenterologist at MeritCare Medical Center (now Sanford H Health), in Fargo ND. There, based on his active participation in teaching of medical students and residents, he was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, with University of North Dakota School of Medicine.
Currently, he is an attending physician on staff at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and Shore Medical Center. He is also a consultant at Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation. He has held memberships of various professional societies like American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Physicians, and American Medical Association. He has offices in Somers Point, Egg Harbor Township and Cape May Court House. Dr. Deshpande is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He remains committed to applying his medical knowledge and professional skills for improving the health and well being of his patients.
